At this time, we are specifically seeking applicants for the following openings:

Tax Manager

The ideal candidate will have experience in tax planning and be able to work closely with clients in a problem-solving advisory capacity.  This person will be responsible for managing tax compliance engagements for business, individual, non-profit, and trust/estates.  The position requires active involvement in business development and could grow into an ownership role.

Qualifications

  • Current CPA license
  • 7+ years of recent public accounting experience
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks is a plus
  • Knowledge of ProSystem Fx is a plus

Audit Staff

The ideal candidate will have experience in performing audits, reviews and compilations and be able to assist in planning, risk assessment and performing attestation engagements.  This person will be responsible for various facets of the attestation engagement, including preparation of financial statements.  A basic understanding of GAAP and GAAS is required.   

Qualifications

  • Current CPA license a plus
  • 2 - 6 years of recent public accounting experience
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks is a plus
  • Knowledge of CCH Engagement and PPC’s Smart Practice Aids a plus

Senior Tax Associate

The ideal candidate will have experience preparing and reviewing a wide range of tax returns including, business returns, personal income tax returns, and nonprofit returns.  Skills in tax planning and tax research will also be required.  This person will be responsible for managing some client tax engagements and assisting with the supervision of busy season interns.

Qualifications:

  • Current CPA license
  • 4-7 years of recent public accounting experience
  • Knowledge of CCH products is a plus, including ProSystem fx, Engagement and Practice Management
  • Knowledge of Quickbooks is a plus

Tax Preparer - Internship

The interns will work under the supervision of experienced staff and partners. The tasks assigned to tax interns include preparation of individual tax returns and personal property tax returns. Students should have taken the Individual Taxation course or have experience preparing individual returns.

The ideal candidate would have a schedule that allows them to commit up to 40 hours per week to the internship. The internship will begin in mid-January and end on April 15.

The person selected for this internship can expect to be involved with the following tasks over the course of the internship:

  • Learning basics of individual income tax preparation
  • Learning basics of software used to prepare individual income tax returns
  • Input client income tax source documents, make lists of missing client data, contact clients via phone or e-mail to obtain missing data or resolve questions, interact with experienced staff and partners to resolve issues and complete tax returns
  • Follow-up on issues/questions raised during the review process
  • Learn software used to compile business fixed asset records in order to update client files for current year additions and deletions.
  • Import client fixed assets data into software used to prepare personal property tax statements.
  • Finalize client personal property tax statements and reconcile to fixed assets records, as well as client balance sheet fixed assets accounts in order to insure complete and accurate compliance with personal property tax reporting requirements.
  • Assist staff and partners with various tasks during the tax processing season.

Tax Processor - Internship

Candidates should have a strong interest in accounting or finance and be detail oriented. This position is open to freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors.

Hours are flexible, and may include nights and weekends depending on the intern’s class schedule and other obligations. The intern will need to be available to work for approximately 5-10 hours per week in early February and up to 20 hours per week from late February through April 15.

The person selected for this internship can expect to be involved with the following tasks over the course of the internship:

  • Processing of tax return packets in a neat and orderly fashion to be delivered to clients
  • Scanning documents into paperless file system
  • Learning basics of individual income tax forms
  • Learning basics of software used to prepare individual income tax returns
  • Resolve follow up issues/questions raised during processing
  • Assisting staff members and partners with various tasks and assignments
